PARLIAMENT OPEN DAY: CELEBRATING 37 YEARS OF INDEPENDENCE AND PARLIAMENTARY DEMOCRACY

In fulfillment of its Constitutional mandate of facilitating public involvement in its legislative and other processes and in the processes of its Committees, Parliament of Zimbabwe will be hosting its inaugural Parliament Open Day on Thursday 8th and Friday 9th June, 2017. The two day expo, which is guaranteed to be a glorious conglomeration of sight, sound and colour, will afford the members of the public, a unique opportunity to intimately interact with your Members of Parliament, gain an in-depth understanding of your Parliament and the role that your elected representatives play in advancing your hopes and aspirations.

Pursuant to this, the Parliament Open Day will include inter alia: mounted displays by the various Parliament departments and our co-operating partners outlining the roles and functions of your Parliament; an opportunity to see your elected representatives in action during sittings of the National Assembly and the Senate which you can watch from the Presiding Officers’ Galleries; guided tours of the Parliament building; and, one- on- one interactive sessions with your elected representatives and Presiding Officers, among other exciting activities. In addition, the National Art Gallery will mount an exhibition on the history of Parliament at the National Art Gallery in Harare from 2 to 7 June 2017.
