1.         The Senate met, pursuant to Proclamation Number 5 of 2017, in the Chamber of the Senate, Parliament of Zimbabwe.

 

            Madam President in the Chair.

 

2.         The Deputy Clerk of Parliament read the Proclamation of the President of Zimbabwe dated 29th August , 2017, summoning the Parliament to meet this day for the dispatch of business as follows:-

3.         The President of the Senate informed the Senate that the President of Zimbabwe would at twelve o’clock noon, in the National Assembly Chamber, declare the cause of his calling of Parliament to meet.  She also informed the Senate of her intention to proceed, attended by the Officers of the Senate and some Honourable Ministers, to the National Assembly Chamber since the National Assembly Chamber could not accommodate all Senators. The rest of the Senators were advised to process back to the Senate Chamber and follow the rest of the proceedings of the Joint Sitting of the Senate and the National Assembly from the Senate Chamber.

 

4.         Business suspended at twenty-one minutes to twelve o’clock pm.

 

5.      N. B. Printer to Insert Speech

 

 

Half past twelve o’clock pm.

 

            The President of the Senate resumed the Chair and read Prayers.

 

 

 

6.         The President of the Senate laid upon the Table –

 

A copy of the speech which the President of Zimbabwe has been pleased to deliver this day. 

 

7.         The President of the Senate informed the Senate that all Chairpersons of Committees were invited to a meeting with senior members of the Office of the President to discuss the Public Entities Corporate Governance Bill, (H. B. 5, 2017) on Wednesday 13th  September 2017, at 0830 hours in the Senate Chamber.

 

 

8.         The President of the Senate adjourned the Senate without putting any question at twenty-three minutes to one o’clock pm until Tuesday, 26th September, 2017 at half past two o’clock in the afternoon.
